Snake Gourd Peas Curry

This curry is very nutritious and can be added with chapatti and rice. This pea is very good for heart and has good source of calcium, phosphorous with low calorie content. Diabetic patient use this type of curry for better diet maintenance.  
Ingredients:
  • Green peas – ½ cup
  • Green chilies – 2 in length
  • Grated coconut – 2tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- ½ cup
  • Urad dal- ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves- 8
  • Jaggery- 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Chopped snake Gourd / padawalkai- 2 cups
Method to prepare:
Chop the snake gourd into many pieces in a pressure cooker by adding good water content of ¼ tsp. Now you can add turmeric in the cooker so that you will hear 2 whistles .Heat the oil in the pan and add some mustard seeds and urad dhal let the whole mixture get boiled well.

Now in this mixture you can add curry leaves and green chilies fore few minutes. Add the grated coconut and salt with jaggery and mix well. Now you can cook the mixture for 10 minutes and also make the water to get disappear when you boil.
