Chicken Pasanda


Chicken Pasanda is an excellent side dish for chapatti and Non. You can have it with hot rice. The cooking time for it is only 30 minutes.  This dish is liked by all especially kids. You can make this dish at home. You can follow the below method to prepare it.


Ingredients

  • Skinless chicken – approximately  1 kg
  • Vinegar – 1.5 tbsp
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Garam Masala – 2 tsp
  • Paprika/Degi Mirch – 1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger Paste – 1.5 tbsp
  • Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
  • Crushed Tomatoes – 1.5 cups
  • Water – as needed
  • Fried Onions – 1 cup crushed
  • Cilantro – for garnish

Method to Prepare

  • Poke holes in the chicken and pour white vinegar into it.
  • Mix well and set aside for 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Mix Yogurt, Salt, Red Chili Powder, Paprika and Garam Masala with the chicken.
  • Mix well and set aside overnight. You can refrigerate it.
  • Take a flat bottomed pan and heat the oil.
  • Add the Ginger Garlic Paste and lower the heat.
  • Add the crushed Tomatoes and cook it till the oil separates from the tomatoes.
  • Now add the chicken.
  • Mix well and add some water if needed. Close the pan and cook until the chicken is ¾ cooked and boiled.
  • Crush the fried onions and add them to the chicken.
  • Cover and cook until the chicken is cooked well.
  • Once done garnish with cilantro and it is ready to serve.

Children love to have it and will ask for more. Give it a try.
